Review: Simple Intensive Relief Lotion

Hi everyone!

Now over the past few weeks my skin has been playing games with me. Normally, I have combination skin (oily t-zone, normal elsewhere) and I am prone to breakouts (particularly around my lady-time of the month). Anyway, the weather here in London has been a bit funny as of late. We had snow, sun, rain, the whole thing really. All in the space of a month. This I'm sure no doubt has caused my skin to play up more than it would usually. So I started to break out a bit on my cheeks (not usual for me as I usually break out on my chin). So I started using a bit of benzoyl peroxide 2.5%. Now back in the old days, this used to work a treat for me, but then my skin started to develop an allergic reaction to it, so I could no longer use benzoyl peroxide as a acne solution. Anyway, years go by, and I thought I'd give it another go, just incase I might no longer be allergic to it (silly me, eh?) Anyway, at first all seemed to go ok, but then, I got a lot of excessive peeling. All over my cheeks. Now, I honestly cant tell if this was an allergic reaction, or whether it was the drying effect of benzoyl peroxide. But this became very problematic for me. I tell you, no cream/lotion worked. I even tried vaseline! But it was like this dry patch was sucking up all the moisture off and insisting that the area remains dry and red and painfully sore.

Then I came across simple intensive relief lotion...
I was initially skeptical about trying it, given that I had tried SO many things. On the website, the product says:
"Specially formulated with highly effective naturally derived humectant Aquaxyl and canola oil, this concentrated, fast acting Intensive Relief Cream deeply hydrates, restoring your skin's natural moisture levels as it protects and prevents further moisture loss.

For skin that is very dry, sensitive or prone to itchy irritation conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. This unique and innovative Simple Derma range prepared b our sensitive skin experts, gives you immediate soothing effects and long lasting care that will calm and help relieve irritated skin."

Now I have to say, this product is my new life saver. Seriously. On the packaging it does say that you will see results within 4 days. I honestly think you see results MUCH sooner!

The cream is white, and I'd describe it as medium/thick consistency - similar to MAC's prep & prime SPF50. You only need a tiny amount as a little bit really does go a long way. I've not had any breakouts from this. It really did help soothe the dry skin and all the peeling was gone. The cream is safe to use on the face/body/hands. The product is available at superdrug/boots and all good pharmacy's. It's affordable (under £10) and does what it say's on the package.

All in all, I give this product a 10/10.
